cheerful conversation ensuded, by the husbands
at one end, and the wives at the other, of
the pleasant palor, to fill the internal
before business, and while the tardy members
were slowly gathering in [...] With Isaac
Hartshorn, Foreman, and L.T Miller, Sec. for
the evening, we entered upon the usual course
of business, reading first the minutes of the
meeting last year at this place we then
faced the opposition usually encountered from
Host, & Hostess, and sought to compare the
present conditon of things with the notes
just read. Our steps were turned directly
to the kitchen garden that modern
necessity, a flower garden not having as
yet been produced tho' we confidently
look for it next year. The garden was
in good order, and looked well notwithstanding
