The name of Virginia H. Steer was proposed as a
member and she was unanimously elected.

Our hostess expressed her enjoyment of the
occasion which was especially pleasant and
diversified. Adjourned to Oak Grove

Mary Bentley Thomas

After the longest interval in its history The
Association met at the home of Martha
Holland 2/25-1899 two sessions having
been omitted because of the decease of Samuel
P. Thomas on 12/ 1898 and of Lydia G. Thomas
on 1/1899. The latter had not been an
active member for a number of years but she
never lost a warm interest in and attachment
to the society she had helped to organise, at the
home of Mary L. Roberts, on 5/1-1857. She
attended the meetings whenever her health permitted
during the whole of these 42 yrs. and we
may well emulate her example as shown by
the minutes, in almost invariably bringing some
article or piece of information to add to the
general store. Dear hostess offered as her
sentiment for the day a fine thought from
