My Sweetheart -

Well I got a cute card from you today, so at least I know you're well enough
to address an envelope. And from the fact that you didn't write anything
on it I suspect that you're up to your ears in homework. It's amazing what
a variety of cute cards you've been able to find in the last 5 months, each
so well to the point. In each one shines through the smiling face of the girl I
love so much, the smile I'm waiting to see again in 2 weeks and 4 days!

Got a letter from Dave yesterday morning and we registered here yesterday
afternoon, so I'm pretty clear on what I'll be taking next fall:

Longmuir: History of England to 1603 5 units M-F 11
Butler French 1 4 units M-F 8
Balbanis Senior Colloq - Econ. Policies of the New Deal 2 units M 2:15-4:05
- Senior Research for history honors 5 units dhr - This will be a big
paper, probably to be written during the whole year.

Also got another very exciting letter yesterday afternoon - confirmation of
my ticket reservations for the Vienna Music Festival! I have definite
reservations for: 6/5 - Verdi: Quattro Pezzi Sacri
Haendel: Dettigen Te Deum
The Vienna Choirboys, Vienna Symphony Orchestra
6/7 - Beethoven's Symphonies # 1, # 9!
London Philharmonic, many name singers I don't know
6/9 - Verdi: Requiem Leontyne Price and others singing
Vienna State Opera Chorus
London Philharmonia
also possible reservations for 6/6 Mozarts' opera: "Cosi fan tutte"

So I'm really excited about getting to Vienna now, as much for the
music as for the sightseeing! I'll have 5 full days to wander around town,
visit art museums, etc. too.

The sun pushed away the clouds for an hour or so, and I grabbed the chance
to walk back into the hillside behind the Burg and take some pictures. It was
so warm and pretty, walking through wild grass knee-high and sprinkled with
gay wildflowers, beside plowed fields and ancient vineyards, past a small
pasture enclosure with 4 cows in it, under thickly green fruit trees shading
the windy dirt roads or paths. It is so peacedul back up there, so quietly
natured and beautiful, and you can look out over the whole Rems valley and
all the hills around.

It's lunchtime again sweetheart. I love you lots and lots and I hope
the next couple of weeks go by O.K. for you. Here's a big X for good luck.
Close your eyes and I'm with you!

I love you,
Your George
