My Darling Bride,
Today we have been wedded
six whole months. Darling I haven't any means
to celebrate such a grandly happy occasion
except a fountain pen and a nervous hand. I do wish
I could send you some love-token even if only to
let you know how much I care. Truly pet no amount
of distractions could let me forget that my life centres
around you, and I want you to beleive Nance
darling you've made me unspeakably happy.
Can you blame me if i've hope & faith in an exciting
future for us both? Romantically exciting, what say
you? Five months of separation I'm sure would
have been terribly agonising were it not for those
so lovely letters you gave to me. I said Last time
I wrote beauty that grows on you is far the most
cherishing, and my love is like that, for noone
could inspire it like you do.
May I wish you now the happiest Xmas
any grass widow could lay claim to? It's
grieving to have to spend your Xmases in
succession away from you. The thrilling and
exciting holiday spirit is too wonderful an
experience to miss, and I must. Pray with me
that it will be the last. Remember our last together
