I have been studying diagnosis & symptoms of malaria. I never knew how close I went to joining Jack. Nor did the M.O. inquire very much about the symptoms. I had both types and one I still have yet. The peculiar facts about the most dangerous type is that it disappears after quinine courses. The mild fever on the other hand is most persistent, & needs prophylactic treatment. By the law of averages I should not have weathered it last year. Such things couldn't happen these days with every facility available. I'm lucky indeed. I'm pleased your eyes have improved. Perhaps a few months will see them perfectly normal.

That was so thoughtful of you to order some postcard size portraits of our wedding I did want to have one of "we two" to admire but thought too sentimentally about exposing a full size portrait to rough wear & tear. How you've delighted me with your promise. You suggested coming to N.G. for a few
