My Own Darling Husband,
Since I last wrote I have received three letters from you & believe me I am feeling very happy darling. Yes, I was beginning to feel a little neglected, and was so disappointed when day after day passed by & no letter from my loved one.
Darling before I go any further I am so sorry to hear you have been so ill, believe me I sensed there was something wrong with you. Thank goodness you are over it now, you will need to rest & take it easy for a while. Jeff has had dysentry too. Alan why don't you apply for a transfer down here, surely they will grant you one now. Isn't there anybody up there who realises how long you have been there, why don't you try to do something about it? Don't worry over me, I am happier now than I have been for a long time, and am taking care of myself for you dear. You ask me am I still as nice as when you left, well I have been told by lots of people I am looking better now than I have ever looked. You asked me my darling so I am telling you at least I am looking after myself better than I have ever done before for you darling. Everything I do Alan is for your sake. (Blame Stanley for this blot, he has been aiming marbles across the table at me, and he ^scored three shots on my hand, yes I am loosing my Irish, I am really mad at him).
