My Darling Beloved Wife

I've spent a day of lazy leisure. There's aught to do but make a tour of inspection, read, write, and eat. I've dug up a few books worth reading. My impatience at receiving no letters is growing. I miss you painfully.

My cookboy has stayed by me for the time being. He's meanwhile training a bright looking successor. My one trouble lies in the scarcity of baking powder. There are no bakeries & meals do lack variety when there are no ingredients. However such luxuries are the least of our worries.

I heard a rumour that some mobile picture show is to spend a night here. There naturally wouldn't be elbow room for all, but I'll push my way in somehow.
