By day the air is cool by sea breezes. The wind blows itself out by sundown & the humidity becomes unbearable. I generally divest myself of everything but underpants, despite orders & mosquitoes. The heaviness of air persists until heavy rain cools things off. Every night we have the thunderstorm. One night we didn't; except for the fact I was within feet of heavy A/A detonations I'd have been really scared. As it was, the roar & concussion rendered me quite insensible to any other feeling.
The news has been release of the wonderfully successful mass raid on Rabaul. Their reprisal on our coast was yet another defeat.
I too, am counting the weeks and days before I will see you again. It's hope to carry on with.
