My Own Precious Husband,

I have just received two letters from you written on
the 11th and 13th of September, and you tell me you have only received 18 letters of mine to your 30, and ask me don't I feel ashamed. I am telling you the truth Alan, I wrote you easily 18 letters in the first few weeks after you left, I wrote practically every night including Sat and Sun nights. Days passed, in fact it may have been a fortnight before I received any mail from you, but when you wrote you told me you hadn't received any mail from me. Alan dear, it was as if our communications were cut off, and news became scarce down here, so I was writing only two letters a week then. For the past weeks I have received two letters from you practically every night, & I see by the dates you have written practically every night lately. Alan do write to me as often as you can. It was great getting letters practically every night, I felt as happy as the day is long. I have written more letters to you than I received so darling don't misjudge me.

The reason I havn't been writing so much lately is because I havn't [sic] been feeling too good. I have written you letters
