Likewise God bestows wealth & takes away peace of mind; replaces running for intellect, & handsomeness for character. But dear Nancy, such philosophy would be lost on the rude clay that is Mrs Cotton.

There's time yet to say how absence has made the heart grow fonder. You're dearly beloved as ever in my heart. Can I say more? Four out of 30 years which is our expectation of life is after all not a great price for freedom.
