My Own Darling Husband,
I was thrilled to receive a letter from you at work to-day but was surprised at you saying you hadn't received any mail lately as I think darling I am up only for mail. I have written easy a dozen letters, if not more. I also received your book to-night, I felt silly when they told me there was a parcel & May started to smile. Alan you should have put some string around it as the parcel could have been opened & I would never know. May said she guessed what it was, & kept smiling at the tables I will give here the benefit of the doubt. Stanley got very interested & wanted to know could he read it & had it any pictures in it. Then Dad came round & was going to have a look at my book, & Mum started to ask what it was. I was in a spot. May said to tell you she has never seen such a goofy look on my face. I will have a look at it later on, I haven't had a chance yet.

Alan darling, every letter you flatter me about my portrait. I am glad you like it so much. Yesterday I shampooed my hair & didn't roll it for work to-day. It looks just like it did
in the photo and everybody at work loved it. I am going to wear it like this for a while.

A crowd of us went to the American Canteen for lunch to-day. It is very much like Renneys Cafe, only better meals. We had to show our passes before we could go in.
