Remember? It shed none of it's petals & there's some lingering loveliness in it yet. I've reread your first lettre d'amour again & again, Nance my darling. Truly it's the loveliest
you've written & it means more to me than a dozen decorations.

Since marching in I haven't been outside the camp. As yet I feel no enthusiasm for theatres or dances. I expect to move out any day soon. Today when returning from the Q.M Store I looked more a newlywed than ever. There I was loaded down with kitchen utensils - complete except for the 'throne'. All the best enamel ware too. I wished you were coming along to set up my home but I'm sure the locality wouldn't suit you pet.
