Dear Dr. Tresidder,

I am a bit late, to put it mildly, in Congratulating you for the stand you have taken in the abolition of sororities at Stanford, but if you will accept late Congratulations, please accept mine. I was as happy as only a contented undergraduate could be as a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma from 1925-29; it took me a few years - happy to say it was only a few - to realize how greatly any good sororities did was outweighed by the harm; from then on I hoped for their abolition without having an active part, such as my sister-in-law, Margaret Shoup, did, in achieving this objective.

And please let me thank you for your letter of March, 1945, which was not a form letter, but a letter in the best of form; I am sure you understand what I mean. The questions asked therein I shall answer in another letter; this V-mail is just to say that I appreciated hearing from you; please remember me to Mrs. Tresidder.
