I am sorry that I did not
see Jack on his return
from the Jubilee.

By the bye I wrote to the Queen's
Librarian to ask if I could
present my Histories to the Queen's
Library at Windsor and have
received a willing answer,
but the blundering publishers
(who try to throw all blame on the
printers) here did not ship off all
the printed sheets, and thus the
History which ought to have been
out in the middle of 1897 is thrown
over to 1898! Have I not had
crosses? But I am old enough
to whistle them away.

Nothing is worth going
crazy about, though some folks
go crazy about nothing.
