to roam again as of yore among the Camden
plantations, but at present I can only
[indecipherable] them through your interesting
account of them. What a soldier
Jamie has made of himself! Inspecting
troops at Dubbo, and going into camp
at Camden! I hear now and then from
Sendgrove, and always reply which
is pleasant to me, and kind of them.

I am glad to hear that Philip
King has been with you at Camden.
Now and then he and I correspond
& then ensues a calm. He has
told me to send him 5 copies of
my new edition of Australia: – 3 for
himself and 2 for you – which if
I live and be capable I will do.

Ugh! That Income Tax! I
resisted the first levy on the ground
that in a Bank here they levied upon
me for two small dividends though
I proved that in the same year I
had to pay to the same Bank calls
exceeding the dividends tenty or
thirty times! But many that
the JP decided against me and
I did not think it worth while
