John King's death is a
terrible blow to all who
knew him, but he had been
a great sufferer for months,
and I confess that when he
seemed incapable of rallying
and each attack left him
weaker, although sensitive
to pain, I despaired of his recovery.

He himself was prepared
for the result long before it
came, and prepared in a
deep Christian sense.

He was most lovingly tended
by his wife & daughters.

His brother Arthur was
deeply affected and in the
mourning coach gave way
so convulsively that Essn. King
at last besought him to
compose himself.
