Description of work: Design drawing representing the Detroit Free Press in the figure of 'Liberty enlightening the World' sending out winged messengers to all parts of earth - as represented by figures in costumes of different countries. Figure of Liberty is copied from Bartholdi's statue in New York harbour. The general design is founded on the Mulready envelope.
