Quebec, Canada.

Is it possible for two different nations to dwell side by side in
peace if the nations speak different languages, have different customs,
and religious faiths opposite? Canada is the answer to that question.

The French first settled eastern Canada but were defeated by
Gneral Wolfe on the plains of Abraham, Quebec, and Canada passed under
the control of Great Britain. It is now an independent dominion of the
British Empire. To this day, however, the French have maintained their
language, customs, and religion but yet all is peaceful in Canada.

On the Provincial seal, on the flag of the Royal 22nd French-
Canadian Regiment and on all historical markers appears the motto:
"Je me souviens." t means said a French Canadian "that although we
give our loyalty to the British Crown and although we consider ourselves
an integral part of the Dominion of Canada, we respect and remember the
courage of our ancestors in planting a colony on the shores of the St.
Lawrence River and we pledge ourselves to keep intact the civilization
which they so nobly began"

We have four rocks in our walls from Quebec, two from an old wall,
one from the Plains of Abraham, one from an old French Fort. The rocks
were kindly given to us by the boys of the Mackey tour, 1929 & 1930.

QUEBECK ON HER ROCKY HEIGHTS

In the foreground are the magnificent promenade, Dufferin Terrace, and the Château Frontenac of the upper city. The Citadel crowns the cliffs
above the St. Lawrence, and to the right is Grande Allée, leading through the upper city of the Plains of Abraham, made famous by the mortal
struggle in 1759 of the gallant rival commanders, Wolfe and Montcalm
