The Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of North Carolina met in Special Session in the Faculty Lounge of the Morehead Building on the campus of the University at Chapel Hill on Sunday, April 26, 1964, at 2:00 P.M. , with the following members present: Mrs. Lathrop, Mrs. Burgwyn, Messrs. Pearsall, Taylor, Mintz, Barber, Noble and Bryant. Billie Curtis, Assistant Secretary.

Also present were: President Friday, Vice Presidents Anderson, King and Weaver, Business Officer and Treasurer Shepard, Chancellors Aycock, Caldwell and Singletary of the University Administration, Dr. William C. Archie, Dr. O. C. Carmichael, Mr. William Dees and Mr. Joseph Greer of the Board of Higher Education, and Messrs. Lutz, Block, Porter, Cook, Garren, Manson, Lynn, Seely and Wise, members of the Executive Committee of the North Carolina State Faculty Senate.

The meeting was called to order and in the absence of Governor Sanford, Mr. Frank Taylor was elected to preside.

President Friday stated that the purpose of the meeting was to give Mr. Bryant and the members of his committee, appointed by the Governor, an opportunity to discuss with and to hear the views of those persons present concerning the proposals presented to the Executive Committee at its meeting of March 13th by officials of the North Carolina State Alumni Association.

A full discussion of Proposal A was had with the members of the Board of Higher Education and Dr. Lutz as Chairman of the North Carolina State Faculty Senate participating. Members of the Trustees' Executive Committee and other members of the Faculty Senate also participated in the discussion. Proposal B was discussed briefly.

No action was taken and the meeting adjourned at 4:00 o'clock, P. M.
