NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that North Carolina State of the University of North Carolina at Raleigh grant an easement right-of-way across its property lying south of Western Boulevard adjoining the property of the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Training Center, to the Government for the installation of a sixty (60) foot underground drainage system.

Mr. Hill moved that the resolution authorizing right-of-way to the Federal Government be approved. Mr. Umstead seconded the motion and the resolution was unanimously adopted.

3. Right-of-Way to the City of Raleigh for extension of Sanitary Sewer Lines.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the need has developed to extend a sanitary sewer line from the ramp located in the northeast corner of the intersection of Western Boulevard and the Beltline, northeasterly across the property of North Carolina State of the University of North Carolina at Raleigh to a point in Lorimer Road. This sewer outfall line is needed to serve the community located just east of the Beltline and north of Western Boulevard; and

WHEREAS, the City of Raleigh must extend this sewer line also northward along the west side of the College property in the vicinity of the Weed Control Laboratory for the purpose of providing sanitary sewer service for the residential areas of the City which lie on the north side of the University property. This extension will also be beneficial to the College, since it will provide needed service for the College to utilize in serving the Weed Control Laboratory area; and

WHEREAS, there will be no cost to the University in the installation of these sanitary sewer lines across our property, other than the required fee to cover a connection charge to tie on the University facilities.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that in the best interest of the City of Raleigh, the community and North Carolina State of the University of North Carolina at Raleigh, the City of Raleigh be permitted to extend the necessary sanitary sewer lines across the University property.

On motion of Mr. Umstead, seconded by Mr. Bryant, the foregoing resolution was adopted by unanimous vote.

4. Holly Tree Museum in Craven County

On motion of Mr. Pearsall, duly seconded, the following request was approved:

Holly Tree "Museum" or "Arboretum"

The Honorable J. Vivien Whitfield of Wallace, North Carolina, has initiated this request in which North Carolina State is requested to act as an agency or "conduit" in order that it may be properly presented to the Governor and Council of State.

Located near New Bern, North Carolina, is a holly tree believed to be the largest and oldest of the American hollies. It is approximately 200 years old, four feet in trunk diameter, and approximately 100 feet
