Retirements

Many years of service to the University have been given by the following members of the faculty who are recommended for retirement at the end of the current academic year. The University is deeply appreciative of the valuable contributions which have been made by these individuals. It is recommended that the Executive Committee appoint each to the appropriate emeritus rank.

Miss Helen Burns, Associate Professor and Freshman Academic Class Adviser, age 64, 27 years of service.

Miss Florence Schaeffer, Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry, age 64, 42 years of service.

Continuation of Service

Continuation of service on full-time basis for the academic year 1964-65 is requested for the following who have reached age 65:

Dr. John G. Frank, age 68, Lecturer in German and Russian.
Dr. Meta H. Miller, age 67, Professor in Romance Languages.
Dr. Alice Schriver, age 67, Professor of Health.

Continuation of Service for Non-Academic Personnel

Continuation of service for the academic year 1964-65 is requested for the following who have reached age 65:

Miss Nell Steele Bigler, age 66, Dormitory Supervisor II.
Mrs. Lowell S. Estes, age 66, Dormitory Supervisor II.
Mrs. Gladys W. Knight, age 66, Dormitory Supervisor II.

Leaves of Absence

Miss Ellen J. Griffin, Associate Professor of Physical Education, leave for academic year 1964-65, without salary.

Dr. Franklin D. Parker, Associate Professor of History, leave for first semester 1964-65, with stipend of $500 to accept a grant authorized by the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961 (Fulbright-Hayes Act), to lecture in American Studies at the University of the Andes, Bogota, Colombia.

Mr. Peter Taylor, Professor of English, leave without salary for first semester of academic year 1964-65, to accept a visiting professorship at Harvard University.
