New Department Head

This is a replacement for Dr. Clyde F. Smith who is relinquishing his duties as Department Head but will continue services as Professor. William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor

Dr. Dan Ulrich Gerstel has been recommended for appointment as William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor of Crop Science. Dr. Gertsel received an annual salary of $12,000 ($10,644 from Station, and $1,856 from College funds). The Reynolds Professorship will give him an additional stipend of $2,000 from the Reynolds Foundation. Dr. Gerstel's contract is on a twelve months basis, and the Reynolds Professorship is effective and retroactive to January 1, 1964. Dr. Gerstel has held the rank of Professor of Crop Science since 1956.

Promotion

Wesley Osborne Doggett prompted from Professor to the position of Assistant Dean of Physical Sciences and Applied Mathematics at annual salary of $18,500 from College and Foundation funds for twelve months effective February 1, 1964. This is a replacement for E. Jack Story.

Dr. Robert Wyllie Work as Professor of Textiles and Director of Textile Research at annual salary of $20,000 from College funds for twelve months effective March 16, 1964. This is a new position.
