John Esteen Keller, Professor, Department of Romance Languages, is recommended for a Kenan leave for one-half time, with salary, for the academic year 1964-65. He will teach on a half-time basis and devote half time to research and writing in sesidence.

John Sheridan MacNerney, Professor, Department of Mathematics, is recommended for a Kenan leave of absence with salary, for Spring semester 1965, for research in residence.

Billy James Pettis, Professor, Department of Mathematics, is recommended for a leave of absence without salary, for the academic year 1964-65 in order to accept a Facuity Fe llowship for research from the National Science Foundation.

Paul E. Shearin, Professor, Department of Physics, is recommended for a leave of basence with salary of $508.34 per month for one year, beginning September 1, 1964, for research at Sanford University.

Samuel Fillenbaum, Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, is recommended lor a leave of absence beginning September 1, 1964, for one year without salary, to accept a Visiting Scholarship at Harvard.

John Gulick, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology-Anthropology, is recommended for a leave of absence for one year beginning September 1, 1964, without salary. Dr. Gulick has been granted Research fellowships from Harvard and the National Institute of Mental Health to pursue his studies of the Middle East.

Paul S. Hubbard, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, is recommended for a leave of absence for one year beginning September 1, 1964, without salary, in order to pursue research at Oxford University.

Dell Bush Johannesen, Associate Professor, School of Business Administration, is recommended for a leave of absence for Spring semester 1964, without salary, to accept an invitation as Visiting Professor of Economics at the University of Texas.

Elizabeth Lovell McMahon, Associate Professor, School of Public Health, is recommended tor a leave of absence from July 1, 1964 to January 1, 1965, with salary, in order to complete work on a doctorate from Duke University.

Ramsom Theodore Taylor, Associate Professor, Department of Germanic Languages, is recommended for a leave of absence with half salary for one year, beginning September 1, 1964, to pursue research in Germany.

James Logan Coke, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, is recommended for a leave of absence, with salary, from March 1, 1964 to September 1, 1965, to continue research at the University of Minnesota and the University of North Carolina.

Samuel Smythe Hill, Jr., Assistant Professor, Department of Religion, is recommended for a leave of absence, with salary of $3700 for the academic year 1964-65, to accept a Post-doctoral Fellowship at Harvard.

Resignations

Lowell DeWitt Ashby, Professor, School of Business Administration, who has been away on leave since September 1, 1962, has resigned as of September 1, 1964, to continue with the Federal Government.

John Kosa, Associate Professor, School of Public Health, has resigned as of February 29, 2964, to accept a faculty appointment at Harvard School of Medicine.

Eugene Charles Luschei, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, resigned September, 1964 to accept an appointment at Brown University.

Retirement:

Claude C. Shotts, General Secretary, YM and YWCA, retires as of July 1, 1964.
