The Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of The University met in Special Session in the Conference Room of the Consolidated University offices at 10:30 o'clock, on Monday, January 20, 1964, with the following members present: Mrs. Eathrop, Mrs. Burgwyn, Messrs. Umstead, Taylor, Pearsall, Bryant, Noble, Wicker, Barber, Hill and Mintz; Billie Curtis, Assistant Secretary.

Also present were: President Friday, Vice President Anderson, Secretary Weaver, Chancellors Aycock and Singletary, and Dean Kelly representing Chancellor Caldwell.

In the absence of Governor Sanford, Mr. Taylor was elected to preside.

President Friday outlined developments concerning the North Carolina State Alumni Association resolutions presented at the January 10th meeting of the Executive Committee. This matter was discussed at length with all members present participating in the discussion.

Mr. Umstead moved that the Governor be authorized to appoint a committee of three from the Executive Committee to work with the President's office concerning this matter. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hill and it was unanimously adopted.

After further discussion, it was voted to recess the meeting until 10:45 Saturday morning, January 25, 1964, at which time Chancellor Caldwell would be asked to be present. He is expected to return from Peru on Thursday of this week.

The Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees reconvened in the Conference Room of the Consolidated University Offices on January 25, 1964, at 10:45 A. M., having recessed the meeting of January 20th until this time. Mr. Pearsall was not present at the recessed meeting, but Mr. Maynard and Mr. Allen who were absent from the January 20th meeting were present, thus,
