FM Radio Station at Greensboro

President Friday presented the following resolution in connection with the proposed operation of an FM Radio Station at the University in Greensboro and he requested its adoption:

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Greensboro Public School System, which formerly operated an FM radio station, has agreed to lease all of the broadcasting equipment for this FM radio station to The University of North Carolina at Greensboro for $1.00 per year; and

WHEREAS, the Administration of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro feels that it would be advantageous to operate this facility both from an educational standpoint and from a community relations standpoint; and

WHEREAS, the equipment can be installed in and operated by the staff of the Greensboro Studio of Station WUNC-TV, and therefore be supported from the budget of the Greensboro Studio of WUNC-TV; and

WHEREAS, the President of the University concurs in the establishment of this facility on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the University of North Carolina at Greensboro be and hereby is authorized to establish and operate an FM radio station on said campus, and that the Business Manager of the University at Greensboro be and hereby is designated as the Officer of the University authorized to sign and submit an application to the Federal Communications Commission for the necessary license for this facility.

Mr. Taylor moved that the above resolution be adopted. The motion was duly seconded and the rsolution was unanimously adopted.

1. Request for approval of proposed demolition of Fourth Dormitory Building on N. C. State campus.
