John William Tomlin, Assistant Professor of Sociology and Anthropology, resigned effective June 30, 1963, to accept a position with the University of Maryland as Special Lecturer in its European Program.

Newton Underwood, Professor of Physics, resigned effective June 30, 1903.

William Calvin White, Extension Associate Professor of Soil Science resigned effective September 6, 1963, to accept a position with the National Plant Food Institute, Washington, D. C.

Change in Appointment Type and Salary

Preston William Edsall, from Professor and Head of History and Polifical Sciences at $13,500 for nine months from College funds, to Professor and Head of Political Science at $15,500 for twelve months from College funds.

Appointment Declined

William Howard Sprecher, Assistant Professor of Food Science, declined appointment effective September 1, 1963.

On motion of Mr. Umstead, duly seconded, the above report and recommendations for State College were unanimously approved.

Football Stadium at Raleigh

Chancellor Caldwell discussed the proposed football stadium at North Carolina State. He reported that a new site had been selected for the stadium and that about $60,000 had been subscribed; that it would take another $10,000 to permit them to sign a contract, and that they would not undertake to borrow more than One and one-half Million Dollars. No action was required on this verbal report.

The University at Greensboro

Chancellor Singletary was necessarily absent from the meeting, and President Friday presented the following report and recommendations for the University at Greensboro:

Appointments:

Mr. Daniel Ericourt as Lecturer of Piano in the School of Music at salary of $14,000 on the basis of nine months of service for the academic year 1963-64, effective September 1, 1963. Born 1903, in France - naturalized citizen of the U. S. ; divorced. Education: Graduate of the Paris Conservatory of Music. Experience: Teacher, Cincinnati Conservatory; Peabody Conservatory; University of Illinois; Conservatory of Music at Santiago-Compostela, Spain; Piano recitals in every major capitol in the world; over 500 recitals in South America; recitals and lectures under the auspices of the U.S.I.S.; record artist for Kapp Records. Mr. William C. Seifrit, as Assistant Professor of Speech, and Director of Forensics in the Department of Drama and Speech, subject to completing requirements for doctor's degree before September 1, 1963; otherwise to be named Instructor without prejudice to salary. The salary of $7,000 is based on nine months of actual teaching duties, effective September 1, 1963. Born 1935, Fairmont, West Virginia; married. Four children. Education:
