at annual salary of $8,500 for twelve months to Assistant Director of Instruction, School of Agriculture, and Associate Professor of Rural Sociology at annual salary of $11,000 for twelve months from Agricultural Institute funds, effective July 1, 1963. This is a replacement for Dr. Homer C. Folks. Dr. Young has been a member of the State College faculty since January 1, 1957.

Administrative Changes, North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service

Approval is requested for the following changes, effective July 1, 1963:

Mr. R. W. Shoffner, who is presently Director of the Agricultural Extension Service and Assistant to the Dean of Agriculture will resign his position as Director in order to become Assistant to the Dean of Agriculture and Extension Coordinator at annual salary of $16,000 from Extension funds for twelve months.

Appointment of Dr. George Hyatt, Jr., as Director of the Agricultural Extension Service and Professor of Animal Science at annual salary of $18,000 from Extension funds for twelve months. Dr. Hyatt is presently the Associate Director of the Agricultural Extension Service and Professor of Animal Science at annual salary of $ 15,000 for twelve months. Dr. Hyatt has been with the Extension Service since 1952.

Appointment of Mr. George Watson Smith as Associate Director of the Agricultural Extension Service and Extension Professor of Forestry at annual salary of $14,500 from Extension funds for twelve months. Mr. Smith is presently the Assistant Director of the Agricultural Extension Service and Extension Associate Professor of Forestry at annual salary of $12,500 from Extension funds. Mr. Smith has been with the Extension Service since 1948.

Appointment of Mr. Thomas Carlton Blalock as District Agricultural Agent and Extension Professor of Animal Science at annual salary of $11,600 for twelve months from Extension funds, effective July 1, 1963. At present Mr. Blalock is an Extension Professor of Animal Science and in charge of Dairy Extension work. He will replace Mr. John Edwin Foil. Mr. Foil will assume the position of State Agent - County Operation.
