Leaves of Absence
Edward G. McGavran, Dean and Professor, School of Public Health, is recommended tor a leave of absence, without salary, for two years, beginning September 1, 1963, to work under the Ford Foundation in India.
Philip P. Green, Jr. , Professor, Institute of Government, is recommended for a leave of absence, with partial salary (Differential between University salary and Fulbright stipend) in order to accept a Fulbright Fellowship for study in England.
James C. Ingram, Professor, School of Business Administration, is recommended for a leave of absence, with salary paid by Ford Foundation funds, for one year beginning September 1, 1963, in order to accept a Ford Foundation Faculty Research Fellowship.
Virgin I. Mann, Professor, Department of Geology, has been approved for a leave of absence for Spring Semester 1964. It now appears that it will be easier for his department to absorb his work in the Fall Semester 1963, and we recommend that the period of leave be so adjusted.
Walter L. Smith, Professor, Department of Statistics, is recommended for a leave of absence, with salary from trust funds, for the academic year 1963-64, for research in England.
William Adolph Terrill, Professor, School of Business Administration, is recommended for a leave of absence without salary, for one year beginning September 1, 1963, in order to work with the Department of Business Management of Middle East Technical University at Ankara, Turkey, under the auspices of Cornell University.
Ernest Q. Campbell, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology-Anthropology, is recommended for a leave of absence, with one-sixth salary, in order to accept a grant from the National Institute of Health for research.
Robert M. Miller, Associate Professor, Department of History, is recommended tor a leave of absence with salary, for the Fall Semester 1963-64, in order to complete a work for publication.
George V. Taylor, Associate Professor, Department of History, is recommended for a leave of absence for one year beginning September 1, 1963, with $2400 of his salary, in order to complete a manuscript.
George B. Tindall, Associate Professor, Department of History, is recommended for a leave of absence for one year beginning September 1, 1963, with $2900 of his salary, for research and writing.
William Edmund Lassiter, Assistant Professor, School of Medicine, is recommended for a leave of absence, August 1, 1963 to February 29, 1964, with salary from trust funds, in order to do research in West Berlin.
John M. Schnorrenberg, Assistant Professor, Department of Art is recommended tor a leave of absence for Fall Semester 1963-64, with $2,000 of his salary, in order to complete work for his Ph. D. from Princeton.
