the 16.62 additional acres of land deemed necessary for the protection of that area of Chinqua-Penn Plantation set aside for the use of the Regional Center and 4-H Club Camp.

Mr. Taylor moved the adoption of the foregoing resolution authorizing the purchase of additional land adjoining the Regional Center and 4-H Club Camp on Chinqua-Penn Plantation. Mrs. Lathrop seconded Mr. Taylor's motion and the resolution was adopted by unanimous vote.

Fluoridation

Mr. Umstead moved that the Governor be requested to ask the Attorney General to do what he can to speed up action on the fluoridation lawsuit at Chapel Hill. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hill and it was adopted.

President Friday

President Friday made a brief general report.

Special Committee appointed to study proposals for additional campuses of the University and other related questions.

Mr. Pearsall, the Chairman of this committee, gave a brief oral report on the progress of the work of the committee and its proposed recommendations to the full Board. He stated that he hoped to be able to make the final report to the Board at a special meeting to be called sometime during the latter part of January.

Mr. Pearsall asked for comments from other members of the Executive Committee concerning the proposed report, and the matter was discussed with all members participating and expressing complete agreement with the recommendations of the committee.

The meeting then adjourned.
