Harvey L. Bumgardner, Extension Associate Professor of Poultry Science requests permission to accept an appointment on the Agricultural Peruvian contract for two years effective January 1, 1963.

Transfer

Jack Ashcraft Rigney, Professor and Head of Experimental Statistics, resigned his position of department head to become the Director of the North Carolina Agricultural Mission in Peru and Professor of Experimental Statistics, effective October 29, 1962.

Resignations

Joseph Leon Helguera, Associate Professor of History and Political Science, has submitted his resignation effective January 31, 1963 to accept a position at Vanderbilt University.

Jamie Parker Lamb, Assistant Professor of Engineering Mechanics, submitted his resignation effective January 31, 1963, to accept a position at the University of Texas.

Morton Lowengrup, Assistant Professor of Mathematics will resign effective June 30, 1963.

Chancellor Singletary presented the following report and recommendations on behalf of the Woman's College:

Appointment

Eunice M. Deemer as Assistant Professor of Home Economics in the area of Textiles and Clothing, at a salary of $8,000 on the basis of nine months of actual teaching duties, for a period of three years, effective September 1, 1963. Born 1923; single. Education: B.S. Indiana State College 1944; M. Ed. Pennsylvania State University 1950; Ph.D. (anticipated in August, 1963) Pennsylvania State University. Experience: High School Teacher, Portage and Commodore, Pennsylvania 1944-53; Cornell University Home Economics Extension Staff 1953; Instructor, University of Hawaii 1954-55; Assistant Professor, Douglass College, New Brunswick, New Jersey 1955-59; Assistant Professor, Penn. State University 1959-61; Graduate Fellow, Penn. State University 1961-63. Interviewed by: Chancellor Singletary.

Leave of Absence

Owen S. Connelly, Jr., Assistant Professor of History, for the second semester of the academic year 1962-63, with salary, in order to do research on a manuscript and complete a book.

Change in Title

Laura G. Anderton, resigning as Associate Dean of the College, effective July 1, 1963, to resume full-time teaching as Associate Professor in the Department of Biology.

Resignation:

Robert W. Greenfield, Associate Professor of Sociology, effective September 1, 1963 to accept a position as Chairman of the Division of Social Science, College of Basic Studies, Boston University.

Deaths:

Miss Annie F. Petty, former Librarian, died December 7, 1962.
