As a temporary arrangement, the total annual Medical School salary of part-time faculty members may be paid from their earnings from clinical practice in the North Carolina Memorial Hospital. Their professional fees will be collected by the Manager of the Private Patient Service and a percentage deduction for overhead shall be made. Any net earnings in excess of annual salary will revert to the appropriate department.

The type of hospital practice as well as its extent will be agreed upon for each part-time staff member at the time of his appointment.
