April 28th
This morning I was compelled
to speak to Miss Holland about the
large pieces of bread given out for lunch.
I also complained of the necessity for
cutting the new bread, in consequence of
the small quantity taken of the Baker
on Tuesday whilst I was away this so
offended her that when called to dinner
she refused to take her meals with me
saying she wished to eat in peace, I
sent her dinner to her bedroom for her.
Revd Mr Bode held an evening Service.
Mrs Dr Williams called to ask for her clothes
to be washed here this week, they had
refused to do it at the Good Shepherd
and her new Laundress had not arrived
I was obliged to say it was impossible for
us to take them as we already had quite
as much as we could managed to get done
and the Laundress had begged me never
to take so much washing again.

29th
Louisa Kerrigan called to day. I went
with her round the building to see her
old companions she looks very quiet &
respectable she tells me Mrs Lindsay is
very careful not to let her go out by
herself.

30th
Miss Holland went out at half past twelve
the Laundress left about five o clock
The Iron plate has been fixed in the
Ironing room this afternoon. All the
clothes washed have gone home to-day.
