27th Kate continues to be very troublesome. I have
not succeeded yet in getting her own Clothes
persists in saying that she will go out.

28th Messrs Arundel and Jay gave me 10/- to buy Fruit for the Inmates. the Ladies gave another 10/- so that we may have a Tea party tomorrow.

29th Mr Howitt preached in the morning
The Revd Mr Piddington - Afternoon
No Service - - - - - - - in the Evening.
All have behaved well today.

30 Nothing of interest

31st Susan Welsh and Annie Hopkins went on the Cottage about dusk.
where they remained until mid night.
Making a disgraceful noise. finding that I could not
prevale on them to come down.
sent for the Police who asked if I
wished to give them in Charge. but
I refused because they had not been rude to me and I hoped to win them
back again. After thanking the Police
men for their prompt attention. I sent the Girls to Bed.
