October 29th. I took the October washing bills to be signed & found the steward had gone
Thursday. Received a note from the
House Com't [Committee] of the Infirmary accepting the offer
to do their washing for 1/- pr [per] Dozen. I took it to
Mrs Goodlets as there was no time to loose [lose], but
she was out. M. Jane sailed 11 oclk [o'clock]

Friday 30th. Received a note last evening from
Mrs Goodlet respecting the Infirmary washing.
I went to speak with the 'Lady Superior' about
it, and received the request instructions.
The Messenger is to fetch it 1/2 past 9 o clock Monday
November 2nd. Went again [to] the office to get the
bills signed. I sent to tell all our town customers
that we could not take in their washing after this week.
Saturday
31st . Mrs Abe [or Wes? this word may be unfinished] asked if I would give
her an insight of the work. We arranged for
her to come this afternoon 3 oclk [o'clock] and stay tea.

I sent the messenger this morn [morning] to the Revd. L. Smith
to ask for the written instructions from the
'Lady Superior' which he took away by
mistake yesterday, and to ask how he wishes
the Infirmary washing to [be] brought in. He told
