Sabbath. Mr H.Moses gave an address 11 o clock. J. Pickering came 3 o clock to supply the place of Revd. C. Creid (who had promised to come) and Mr H. B. Lee gave an afdress in the evening. All the inmates were clean and orderly Mr Roberts brought a woman from the breakfast meeting named Ester Thomas, but as she is a married woman, and one that the sub [committee] refused on that account, I could not take her in.

Monday. The S.S Ruahine linen was counted and taken away. We had to have the asistance [assistance] of Miss Weight. She came in Sunday night after chapel time and we commenced after 5 o clock this morning.

Tuesday. Special Committee Ladies to select a Matron.

Wednesday. Miss Gabbraith went with Mary Jane and found that the steamer would not sail although advertised yesterday and she had to bring her back.
