Sabbath
Rev'd W. Mills preached 11 oclk
Rev'd G Woolnough dissapointed [disappointed] us again this
afternoon. Eliza Ash continues very
ill. she reads her Bible and takes pleasure in
conversing about Jesus as her [underlined]only[underlined] saviour, mourning over her past life and says that she sinned against
light and knowledge having been taught in her childhood
in the Sunday School. she feels she is the greater sinner.

Monday 19th

Teusday [tuesday] 24th
Mrs. Baines came (as she promised)
to shew [show] the ladies her Marriage lines
Sub com't met 4 laidies present.
A respectable man, called E Wells called to ask if
we would take his daughter aged 14 yrs. I said
he ought to get her sent to Newcastle. he replied
I dont like to send her there, [underlined]they[underlined] make them ten times ^[sup]worse[sup]

Wednesday21st
The Steamers washing coming so
late, has been a great inconvenience
causing the inmates, to work longer hours than
is desirable, and hindering the progress of the
sewing department. and presenting us
having time to read and converse with
them.
