October 1st.
Thursday Number of inmates at present 27.
in tolerably good health. except E Ash and
Adelaide having a Sore eye.

Oct 2nd. Friday Mr. Reeves Iornmonger [ironmonger] sent us
a present of a nice Lamp and Shade this morng.
The General Committee met. 15 Ladies
present. The Matron gave in her resignation.

I sent a note asking Dr. Nathan please call to see
two of the girls.

Saturday 3rd.
I went with the messenger 1/4 past 6 oclk
to Central Market for vegetables. paid 4/-

Sabbath 4th
No Minister in the morning. The Matron
had all the inmates assembled together. and
those that could read, read with her every other verse
25th Chapt. Mathew Sang "Rock of ages" and had prayers
There was perfect order and quietness, during the whole time.
Dr. Nathan called at noon - and had the misfortune
to knock his beautifull [beautiful] new hat against the gate top, in coming in. He considers Adelaides eye is in danger
and gave particular orders respecting it.
Revd.H. Creed preached 3 oclk. and Mr. D. Walker in the eveg.
