September 26th
Saturday. I sent a letter to A.A. Beason Esq.
Superintendent purser, Wellington. as
follows Sir, I beg to call your attention to the
low price paid for washing your Table cloths
(e.i one penny each) although some of them are
6 yards long, besides being extreemly [extremely] dirty,
The ladies in comt. desired me to ask if
you would please to order an advance."

Sabbath 27th.
Mr. W. Pidock preched [preached] 11 oclk. Mr P Fletcher
3 oclk. and H.M Lee in the evening all the
inmates quiet and orderly.

Monday 28th - Having seen a notice in the Herald of the
death of Capt. James Carmichael's little girl, I told
the Mother. also called upon Revd. W. Sharp. he very
kindly visited the sorrowing Mother. and prayed with her.
she is deeply humbled and ownes [owns]that she richly deserves
all this trouble. she told me that she had made up her mind
to destroy herself, the day I took her in.

Teusday [tuesday] 29th. I went to consult with the
father of Adelaide the girl Revd G. Vidall
brought in. he says he cannot do anything with
her that if he gave her sewing, the moment his
back was turned, she left it. he would like to
get her into the Industrial School but fears she
is too old, he or his wife will call upon the
Comt. ladies.
