Wednesday
Posted a letter to Panama Steamer's
office telling that all the linen was ready
Mrs. Walker called to say she would take Emily on
Saturday. Miss Galbrith is to take her to New Town,
to Denison House.

Thursday 30th
All this morng. taken up counting
the linen. and before it was
finished the S.S. "Mataura's" soiled linen was
brought in and all the aftern. spent unbagg.
and countg. by 2 officers. Miss Galbraith and 3 girls.

Friday 31st
The Stewardess and one officer counted
the remainder of the linen. The second man
"was too drunk," and did not come. I told them
that if he came I would not let
him in.

Mr. Reeves gave an address this evening. all the
inmates very attentive. text. John 14. 14 "If ye
shall ask anything in my name, I will
do it."

Saturday August 1st
Our new Sythe [scythe] is just what
we have long wanted, it will soon
pay for itself, in the saving of the gardeners time.
The grass can now be cut with half the
expence[expense]. I sent Miss Galbraith to
Newtown in charge of Emily Tompkins. by 2 o clk
Train.

I went 1/2 past 6 oclk with the messenger to the
Central Market for our weekly supply of vegetables. 3/6
