July 21st Tuesday
Sub com't met 4 ladies present.
Mrs. W. Speer accompanied by Mrs. R Thorne visited
the Institution.

22nd Wednesday
Mr. Gully brought M.A. Burns in rags and
dirt. she came to the Refuge the first time
Jany 10th. 65. and on the 27th. I had to get an order fm. Dr.Nathan
for her to the Infirmary for Syphilas [syphillis] When discharged fm. there, she went to 'sin and debauchery." and returned to us March 6th
untill [until] July 15th. when she made her escape over the cottage
taking with her, Sarah White - and stealing a quantity of the Refuge clothg.

23rd Thursday
We are sorely tried with the bad conduct
of Bridget Mc.Chullock she is so quarrelsome.

24th. Friday
Although we have so few inmates
the Steamer's washing is nearly finished.
Our evenings are spent in a cheerful manner,
Some are engaged sewing, others patching their own clothes
or making paper bags. whilst one reads. This eveg.
Agnes read a tale from The British Workman.
