July 17th Friday
I went early to Mrs. Goodlets to report
Kate Barry's return, and to enquire what to do with her.
I was told to state her case to the Hon. H. Parkes. There I
saw Mr. Halloran he said I did quite right to take her
in, and volunteered to subscribe £1.1.0 to the
Refuge in order that she might be retained.
He said "to refuse her because of her parents conduct
would be visiting their sins upon the girl."

Saturday 18th
The messenger and I went 1/2 6 oclk to central
market and purchased vegetables the week. 3/8.

Sabbath 19th
Mr. W. Pidesch preached this morng.
all the inmates quiet, clean and
orderly.

Monday 20th
I called upon Mr Cree to say we
do their washing now. he promised to
speak to Mrs. Cree about it.
