June 18th
Thursday.
This wet weather retards the
progress of the S.S washing. we
dont know what to do the washed clothes are spoiling
for want of a place to dry them.

Friday 19th
Bridget McCullick is very troublesome
being idle noisy and quarrelsome I have
frequently to threaten to lock her up.

Saturday 20th
Went with the messenger 1/2 past 6 oclk
this morn'g to Central market, purchased
vegetables 4/. and 1 Doz P. Melons for 1/.
All the inmates in health, and most of
them working well.

Sabbath 21st
Mr. Moses gave an address this morn'g
Dr. Hobbs in the afternoon.
A little boy aged 9 yrs called to see his
Mother (Julia Gibson) as he talking a while
to her, with one hand in hers & with the other tiny hand
he rub'd or stroked her hand, and looking up
into her face ^[sup]said[sup] "Dont leave here Mother, will
you Mother?" She said no, my boy, I am very happy
I'll not go away. he then took an orange out of his pocket
& said "will you have an orange Mother? Then brought a second and heres another, they cost 1/2 price, they are very nice."
