Friday
Maria went away this eve'g with
her new Mistress, she assures me that
she is determined "to do everything in her power
to please her employers." I am sure she will please
them, if she serves them as she has served in this
Institution for [underlined]twelve[underlined]months.

Saturday 23rd
I purchased 5/ worth vegetables at the
central market.
Received a note from Mrs. Trevors. Mandy Bach is asking
for a good nurse to go with her to Queensland as we
have none that would be likely to suit, I wrote
by "return" telling her so.
Miss Aitken presented us with three books
The "British Workman", British Workman and
"Rob and his friends."

Sabbath 24th
No Minister today. The Matron conducted
the morning prayer and Mr. Roberts in the
evening. most of the inmates that can read
availed themselves of the excellent books provided
for them, and spent several hours reading.
all quiet and well behaved, and in good health.
