May 18th Sabbath
Mr W. Moses gave an address 11 oclk and
Mr Fletcher 3oclk. Mr Roberts in the eve'g
we'r all in good health. The inmates
clean and orderly. only 22 in number.

Monday 11th
Sent messenger next door again about the
dampness in the wall. They promised to see to it.
Miss Galbraith returned this evening.
A Police man called to say they had found the print
skirt at a pawn office in Woolloomolloo. Mr. Roberts took
Maria with him, but as the police had given a wrong
direction their journey was fruitless. I sent to the Station
when the man admitted the mistake ^[sup]and directed[sup] to no 2 station Darlinghurst to enquire, and a detective accompanied Miss. Galbraith and Maria Hodnett to the place where the skirt was pawned for 1/. Police ordered the pawnbroker to attend at Central Police Station tomorrow to bring skirt with him.

Tuesday 15th
Sub com'e met, 4 ladies present.
I went this eve'g to Sopha Collin's Mother, Devitt St
to enquire about her. She very reluctantly consented to
take me to where she was staying. (I told her I would go tell
a police man if she did not) but after taking me to
Woolloomoolloo!! by Robertson's "Boat Builder", she said
she "[underlined]only[underlined] knew that the people's name was Johnson, that it was somewhere up that lane", When I returned, greatly dissapointed [disappointed] , Miss Galbraith, Miss Wright and Maria went and walked separatly [separately] about Riley St, &c &c
Maria saw Mary Creeq ^[sup]alias McAveny[sup] caught hold of her, and Mary fought desperately, gave Maria a black eye, broke her comb,
tore her nott, and pulled handfulls [handfuls] of hair out of her
head before a constable could be found. Mr. Watson chemist
ordered two leeches, her face is swelled very much.
