Friday. 6th.
Number of inmates 32.
Emptyg. the closets continues to be
thought a great trouble. several of the
girls are sick whilst doing it. Agnes O.Brian
said this morng. "Well, if this dosntv[doesn't]
bring us to our senses, I dont know what
will" If we had a Messenger that
woul do the garden and keep the closets clean
it would be much better. now that we have
plenty of work for the inmates.

Ladies general Comt. 12 ladies present
Received a note from Revd Dunmore Lang
recommending a woman named
Cathn. Booth. who presented herself at
the gate 1/2 past 9 oclk. with a lighted cigar!
which she smoked and handled as if she was accustomed
to smoke them.

Saturday 7th.
The laundresses have been extra busy
all day, washing blankets.
Dr Nathan has given Bridget permission to put her
foot to the ground. her leg being so much better.
Mrs. T. Taylor brought Margt Canovan ( a child of about 11 yrs old) an orphan.

Sabbath 8th.
Revd. W. Mills preached 11 o.clk.
Revd. G Woolnough 3 oclk and G. Winter
in the eve. - All the inmates attended
and were clean and orderly. All our Books
were lent out this morn. to be returned in the
eveg.
