Feb'y 27th Thursday.
The Rev'd Thos Smith called to say that the Earl of Belmore would visit the Refuge tomorrow at 11 oclk. the notice
is short. but the girls are all willing to do extra time.
Dr. Nathan visited Bridget.

Feby 28th Friday.
The Earl & Countess of Belmore & Aide de Camp,
visited us, according to appointment this
morning. The Countess said she was much
pleased every thing being so nice and clean.

The drapery from Dawson & Egar's brought in today.
S. S. "Ruahine" 's linen sent home this morn'g in
exellent condition.

Saturday 29th
Very busy giving out Clothing to the
inmates in order that they can sew them
before the next Mail Steamer comes in.

Went to the Panama's office with the bills, which they
promised to "pay next Sat'y (£36.13.4) called at the
'Royal Hotel' Mrs. Wilcher consented to pay £4 12 6
thereby deducting £ 1. 12. 6 for "lost things." after I
had excepted the bill, the housekeeper (who I thought
had the money) took it away and remained more
than 1/2 an hour when she returned saying
Mr. Wilcher wont pay it. says Mrs. Wilcher had no
right to make that offer. I said but where's the receipt
"Mr W had it." but I cannot leave this Hotel without
either the money or receipt. I'll see him myself please
with that. I was shown his office.
