Sept. 19th

Thursday. Went yesterday to Campbell's Wharf - the
housekeeper (Miss D), said she beleived [believed] Matilda W.
was virtuous. still she thought the best place for her
was Parramatta again. she has a half sister "Madam B. Wallase"
where she might have a home but she wont stay there.
and Mrs. Beinmass said she thought she was not fit to
be at large. that when staying with her - she came home ^[sup] once [end sup]
greatly exited (excited), and said, "two artillery men had been
talking to her, one of them had made an offer of marraige [marriage]" to
her. and She thinks altho' [although] M may[underlined] be honest & virtuous, now
she wont remain so long. unless protected by some one.
Mrs. Deas Thompson and Mrs. Allwood called in the eve'g
in reply to the note sent to the Industrial School about
Matilda. after hearing about the above visit, they
decided to apply for admission for her to H. Park Asylum.

Friday 20th.
Rev'd Vidal called to ask "if we would receive a
woman aged 31 - anxious[underlined] to reform, she is living
now in Brisbane but wants to get away[underlined] from temptation.
The Bishop advised the clergyman to write to Rev'd Vidal as there is
no Refuge in Brisbane to put her in".

Mrs. Allwood sent her servant this morn'g for Matilda Wallase
and took her to the Asylum

Saturday 21st.
Sent the messenger with Matilda's clothes, to Hyde
Park asylum.

all the work progressing
and the inmates quiet. singing hymns in all parts
of the house, as they work. Its astonishing the
number of hymns they know.
