Dr. Charles preached 11 oclk. Rev'd W. Robson
3 oclk, and John Watt in the eve'g.
Number of inmates 45, all present. Eliza Beuce
and M. J. Jackson had to be reprimanded for
coming to the afternoon service with their hair untidy, and
Ester Beuce for rudness [rudeness] in the eve'g. Miss Galbraith in bed all day with severe headache.

Monday 16th
Wrote to Mrs. Kendall Matron of Industrial School
to enquire about Matilda Wallace
Mrs. K sent word that Matilda [underlined] was [end underlined] at the school,
but before her time and that she has been
at the lunatic asylum since she left there.
MWsays that she left the school 10 years ago.

Tuesday 17th
Wrote to T Feran in reply to her enquiries about
Emma F telling him she was sent to the Reformatory
Poor Mary Smith has taken cold through washing outside
her face is quite deformed with the swelling. sent to bed and
gave her medicine and arrowroot and milk, as she cannot
eat the rations her mouth being so sore.

Wednesday 18th
Mrs. Alexander Campbell visited the
Refuge. previous to sailing for England
Pr [per] mail steamer "Geelong" she promised to visit similar homes in England and call to see us on her return. she said she was much pleased with the order and cleanliness and surprised to see how cheerful the inmates were - and gave £2.0.0 to purchase something for them.
