Thursday. Thursday.
We have received one day's
chemies & 6 pillow Slips to make, with a
promise of more if they are done well.
Total amount received for work this month
£57.5.11 there is £27.12.8 due for
S. S Mataura's wash'g which will be paid tomorrow.
This month has been a remarkable one in
the history of the Refuge only one having
left, (ei), Emma Fern to a [underlined] situation [end underlined]!!!

Friday 5th General Com't ladies present 11

Saturday 7th
Went by request to the com't to
Mr Linaker to enquire about M. Fletchers'
husband, he gives him a good character and
thinks that its Mary thats to blame. he is
a steady good work man, been in his employ
22 years. The S. S Kaikowra's washing
brought in [underlined] dirtier [end underlined] than usual.

Sabbath 8th
No Minister this morn'g being so very
stormy. Rev'd G Woolnough at 3 oclk
& Mr. Lilly in the eve'g. S. Jane Green
absent through toothache and swelled face
all the rest in attendance.
I have had to reprove Mary Mack for swearing, and
singing a lewd song last night. she sent me a
note this morn'g saying she was sorry. how glad we
should be if it were sorrow for sin, however it is
too serious a case. she must be reported to the com't
