Monday. Kate Richards does not improve, she is so noisy. she came to me saying "I cant work", why? "because they'r [they're]
spinning yarns about me in the building &c But if your concience [conscience] is clear, you need not mind. there needs two [underscored] to quarrel. if you will be quiet they'll soon tire. you talk too much [all underscored] instead of continual chatter ( & the Bible says "in the multitude of words there wanteth not sin") "Comune [commune] with their own heart and be still".
Teusday [tuesday]
27th Ladies sub. comt. decided that M. Cusock was not a suitable person for this Refuge. and dismissed her.

Wednesday
28th We are greatly in want of work. the washing is all finished. Lady Young brought a whole peice [piece] of Grass Cloth to be made up into chimies and commanded me to choose the Valenceins [Valenciennes] lace for them & to buy it where I liked.
Thursday
29th Elizth. Logan is such a quiet obliging girl - and I do think she is truly sorry for the past. her gratitude for kindness shewn [shown] to her when ill is great. says she will never forget it.
Sent a letter to R.J. Parker Australian Joint Stock Bank, Dubbo in reply to his enquiry respecting Hannah Pitty.
